Terms and Conditions for Wimbledon Cleaner Services
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Wimbledon Cleaner provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, you agree to these terms, whether you book a one-off service, a regular clean, or any other arranged cleaning appointment. Please read this document carefully before confirming any service. In these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Wimbledon Cleaner, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer receiving the service.
These terms are intended to create a clear and fair agreement between the customer and the cleaning provider. They cover the booking process, payment obligations, cancellation rights, liability limits, waste handling rules, and the law that applies to the contract. They are designed to support a professional Wimbledon cleaning service while keeping expectations practical and transparent.
If any part of these terms is unclear, the customer should consider the wording carefully before proceeding with a booking. Confirming an appointment means you accept these conditions in full, including any amendments made to reflect the service requested, the condition of the property, or any special instructions agreed in writing.
1. Booking Process
A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted your request and provided confirmation. Requests may be made by any approved booking method and must include accurate details about the property, the type of cleaning required, the preferred date and time, and any relevant access information. A Wimbledon cleaning company cannot be responsible for delays or changes caused by incomplete or incorrect information supplied by the customer.
We may ask for additional information before confirming the appointment. This may include floor plans, parking notes, security arrangements, service preferences, or details about fragile items, pets, or restricted areas. Where a service requires specialist materials, additional labour, or particular equipment, we may amend the price before acceptance of the booking. No service will begin until the customer has agreed to the final arrangement.
Although we aim to keep appointments on schedule, booking times are estimates unless a fixed time has been expressly agreed. Arrival windows may vary due to traffic, weather, prior jobs, or unexpected operational issues. A Wimbledon cleaning service is not liable for minor delays that are outside reasonable control, provided we communicate any significant change as soon as practical.
2. Service Standards and Customer Responsibilities
We will carry out the agreed cleaning services with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate methods and products for the job. The exact scope of work depends on the service booked and the information provided by the customer. If a property is unusually cluttered, heavily soiled, or contains hazards, we may need to adjust the time available, limit what can be completed, or refuse to continue if the conditions are unsafe.
You are responsible for ensuring the property is ready for cleaning, including reasonable access to all areas included in the booking. This means removing obstacles, securing valuables, advising us of delicate surfaces, and ensuring utilities such as water and electricity are available where needed. A cleaning service in Wimbledon may decline to move heavy furniture, lift fitted appliances, or handle items that could be damaged by movement or standard cleaning methods.
We may also refuse tasks that involve unreasonable risk, bodily fluids, dangerous substances, pest infestations, asbestos, mould requiring specialist treatment, or any other condition that falls outside normal domestic or commercial cleaning. Where we identify such issues, we will explain the limitation and, if appropriate, suggest that the customer arrange a specialist contractor.
3. Payments
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking and may vary depending on the service type, frequency, and level of preparation required. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the service or in advance where a deposit or prepayment has been requested. A Wimbledon Cleaner may require full payment before arrival for certain appointments, especially where products, equipment, or reserved time slots are committed in advance.
All prices are stated in pounds sterling and may be subject to change before a booking is accepted. Once a booking is confirmed, the agreed price will normally remain fixed unless you request additional work, the property details differ materially from what was described, or extra time is required to complete the agreed tasks. Any additional charges must be communicated before they are applied wherever reasonably possible.
Late or failed payments may result in debt recovery action, suspension of future bookings, or cancellation of any scheduled service. If a payment is declined, reversed, or disputed without reasonable basis, we may charge administrative costs and any bank or processing fees incurred. The customer remains responsible for paying for services properly delivered in accordance with the booking agreement.
4. Cancellations, Changes, and Missed Appointments
You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice. The amount of notice required may depend on the service type and booking size, but cancellations made at short notice may incur a charge. Where staff have already been allocated, materials prepared, or travel begun, we may retain part or all of the fee to cover wasted time and expense. This is a normal condition of a professional Wimbledon cleaning company and helps us allocate resources fairly.
If you wish to make changes to the appointment, you should tell us as early as possible. We will try to accommodate amendments to timing, scope, or access arrangements, but changes are subject to availability. If the revised service cannot be delivered on the originally scheduled date, the appointment may need to be moved, and pricing may also change if the work required becomes more extensive.
Where we need to cancel or rearrange a booking due to illness, equipment failure, unsafe conditions, or events beyond our reasonable control, we will contact you as soon as we can and seek a new date or other suitable arrangement. We are not liable for indirect loss arising from such cancellation, provided we act reasonably and keep you informed.
5. Liability and Limitations
We will take reasonable care when working in your property, but no cleaning service can guarantee the complete removal of all stains, marks, odours, wear, or pre-existing damage. Results may depend on the age and condition of surfaces, the type of materials present, and the level of soiling. A Wimbledon cleaning service does not accept liability for deterioration that is caused by normal wear, age, hidden defects, or incorrect prior treatment.
Our liability for loss or damage caused by our negligence is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, taking into account the age and condition of the affected item. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be limited under English law.
We are not responsible for damage resulting from unsuitable, defective, or poorly maintained fixtures, fittings, appliances, furniture, or surfaces, unless we knowingly used an inappropriate method after being advised otherwise. If you ask us to use a specific product or technique against our recommendation, any resulting damage will be at your risk. Please note that our insurance, where applicable, does not replace your own obligation to protect valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items.
6. Access, Safety, and Property Conditions
You must ensure safe access to the property at the agreed time and provide any keys, codes, fobs, or instructions needed for entry. If access is not available, or if we are unable to reach the property because of inaccurate directions or security restrictions, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly. This also applies where no one is present and no agreed access arrangement exists.
We may stop work if the property is unsafe, if we believe there is a risk to health or property, or if the behaviour of anyone present is abusive, threatening, or unreasonable. In such cases, any completed work may still be charged, and we may decline future appointments. A professional Wimbledon cleaning service must be able to operate in a respectful and safe environment for all parties.
The customer should remove or secure money, jewellery, important documents, data devices, and other high-value items before the service begins. While we will take care when working around personal belongings, we cannot accept responsibility for losses where items were left unsecured or where access was granted to open storage, drawers, or containers without notice.
7. Waste Regulations and Disposal
Waste generated during cleaning must be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and local disposal rules. We will remove ordinary cleaning waste only where this is part of the agreed service and where the waste is non-hazardous and suitable for standard collection. This may include packaging, disposable cloths, and general debris created during the cleaning process.
We do not remove prohibited, hazardous, or regulated waste unless this has been expressly agreed in advance and the service is lawfully permitted. Such materials may include chemicals, clinical waste, needles, sharps, asbestos, paint, oils, contaminated materials, or any substance requiring specialist treatment or licensing. If we encounter items that appear dangerous or unlawful to dispose of, we may leave them in place and inform the customer of the issue.
It is the customer’s responsibility to disclose any waste that may require special handling and to provide accurate information about the nature of the materials present. If waste is generated due to hoarding, deep cleaning, tenancy clearance, or property condition, additional charges may apply where lawful and reasonable. A Wimbledon cleaner will always aim to dispose of waste responsibly and in compliance with environmental expectations.
8. Complaints, Reclean Requests, and Remedies
If you believe a service has not been performed in line with the agreed scope, you should notify us within a reasonable period after completion and provide enough detail to identify the issue. Where appropriate, we may offer a revisit, partial remedy, or other practical solution. Any remedy will depend on the circumstances, the condition of the property, and whether the issue was within the service scope.
We are not obliged to provide a remedy where dissatisfaction relates to pre-existing damage, unrealistic expectations, conditions outside the agreed service, or matters that could not have been avoided by reasonable care. If you have requested a specific product, finish, or method and the outcome differs from your preference but remains professionally reasonable, this will not normally amount to a breach of contract.
Any claim relating to the service should be made promptly and in good faith. Delays in reporting an issue may affect our ability to inspect the matter and may limit available remedies. We encourage all customers to review the completed work at the end of the appointment where practical.
9. Personal Data and Confidentiality
We may collect and use personal information necessary to manage bookings, carry out services, process payments, and maintain records. Such information will be handled in line with applicable data protection laws. We will only keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for business, legal, or accounting purposes. We will not sell customer data and will only share it where required to perform the service, comply with the law, or protect our legitimate interests.
Any access details, security information, or property instructions you provide will be treated as confidential and used only for service delivery and operational purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that any person providing access to the property has authority to do so. If you book on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have permission to share the relevant information with us.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising from them, are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory legal rights provide otherwise.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If any provision is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force so far as the law allows. The failure to enforce any part of these terms on one occasion does not mean that the right to enforce it later has been waived.
Wimbledon Cleaner may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or service changes. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply unless a later version is expressly agreed. By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms for the requested Wimbledon cleaning service.
